Charlotte beads (cut beads) are from the Czech Republic. There are approximately 2,000 beads in a size 11 cut bead hank or tube (cut bead hanks are half the size of non - cut bead hanks).
Charlotte cut beads have more sparkle in them due to the definitions created by the cut pattern. They are often used in bead embroidery and Native American beadwork. They can be used alongside non-cut seed beads of the same size. Some of these beads are from the Sheen Bead Company, an importer of cut beads. Sheen bead hanks have less beads than a regular cut hank and are marked accordingly.
Also included in this category are True Cut Beads. True Cut beads only have 1 cut per bead as opposed to cuts around the entire bead. They are not quite as "blingy" but provide more beads per hank.
