Chalcedony is a form of silica, and appears in a spectrum of colors, including blues, grays, white and earth tones. It is prized for its unique transparence and beauty.

It is mined in numerous places, including central Asia, the mediterranean, Brazil, Nevada and California.

Chalcedony is believed to expel negative energy and bring the mind and body into balance.

It is a gemstone on the 6.5-7 Mohs hardness scale.
